Pokémon card scanner
A Pokémon card scanner app identifies a card from your phone's camera and shows its market price. The best-known free options are the TCGplayer app, Collectr, Ludex and Pokellector. Scanners are fast for bulk sorting but often miss the exact version (reverse holo, patterns, promo stamps), so double-check anything valuable.
Popular scanner apps
| App | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| TCGplayer app | Buying and selling on TCGplayer | Free, iOS and Android, prices from TCGplayer sales |
| Collectr | Tracking a collection's value | Free core features, multi-game, premium analytics |
| Ludex | Sports and Pokémon cards together | Limited free scans |
| Pokellector | Completing sets and wishlists | Checklist first, scanning second |
App features and prices change often. Check the app store listing before you subscribe.
How accurate are card scanners?
They are good at the card itself and weaker at versions. A regular card, its reverse holo and its Master Ball pattern look similar to a camera, but can differ in price by ten times. Good lighting, a flat card and a dark background help.
Double-check a scanned price in three steps
- Confirm the card number and set symbol on the card itself.
- Check the version: holo, reverse holo, pattern, stamp or language.
- Compare with recent sold listings for the same condition. See how to price check a card.
Every card we list shows its live price, and our set pages list every card in order, which makes it easy to check a scan.
What is the best Pokémon card scanner?
The TCGplayer app for quick prices, Collectr for tracking a collection. Neither replaces checking sold prices on valuable cards.
Are Pokémon card scanner apps free?
Most have a free tier with paid upgrades for larger collections or extra features.
